How can I support you?

Water sector regulation: I support water companies in England and Wales with a broad range of regulatory issues, including new appointments and variations, development services, water supply licensing, bulk supply agreements, access pricing, the sale of company data, and Ofwat determinations under the WIA 1991.

Licence conditions:  I support regulated companies in: interpreting licence conditions; advising Boards of their responsibilities under those conditions; advising on proposed licence changes; understanding the implications of the proposed changes to the regime for licence modifications; managing the risk of enforcement actions under the licence; and considering how to challenge actions of the regulator in relation to licence modifications and enforcement.

Regulatory affairs: I have been involved in several legislative and regulatory consultations on behalf of individual utilities and have provided a range of regulatory advocacy services, including engagement with the sectoral regulators.

Dispute resolution: I have assisted with disputes arising out of self lay contracts, procurement, inset appoints, sale of infrastructure data, bulk supply agreements, competition under the WA 03 and CA 98.  I have recently assisted a company with a dispute, anticipated to be resolved through arbitration, relating to the supply of a signicant raw water resource which raises complex competition and regulatory issues, including potentially abusive excessive pricing.

Freedom of information:  I support companies impacted by the freedom of information regimes – both in protecting their information from inappropriate disclosure and challenging the decisions of public bodies to withhold certain information.
